A common question from pregnant mothers is, “When should I book my maternity photoshoot?” First time moms, especially, don’t necessarily know when the best time to is to set up their maternity session. There is an optimal window of time that is simply perfect for capturing the beautiful essence of your baby bump.
As your maternity photographer it is my goal to perfectly capture this magical time in a woman’s life. The purpose of having maternity photos done is so that you can document this special time. As your baby grows in utero, you will certainly experience significant milestones. Documenting your maternity journey can be as important as the memory of your baby’s first kick or hearing their heartbeat for the first time.
Giving yourself the gift of a maternity photoshoot is also a fantastic way to celebrate the gift of motherhood. I work hard to make every mom that I work with feel beautiful. A maternity photoshoot is an excellent time to celebrate the miracle that your body is creating! I supply you with special gowns and fabrics to wear during your studio photoshoot. I will also send you a comprehensive checklist a few days prior to your session to help you prepare to shine.
With all that said, I tend to advise moms who seek me out for maternity photos to book their maternity photoshoot when they are around 32-34 weeks pregnant. During this period of your maternity, your bump will be gorgeous and round. Typically moms also feel their best at this point in their pregnancy as well. When you feel good, it’ll be easier for you to look your best. However, no two pregnancies are the same, so sometimes we may book your session outside of 32-34 weeks. As general practice, it’s also preferable to set up your shoot a few weeks prior to your chosen photoshoot date.

For example, you could choose from a studio or outdoor session. Henna sessions are also available at an additional cost. My fine art photography studio is filled with luxurious fabrics and gowns as part of the maternity wardrobe that I offer. I even offer different packages for pregnant moms to choose from.
