Who are you?

My name is Maryam and I’m a photographer specialized in Newborn, Baby, and Maternity photography. I’ve decided to launch a project called: “Life Begins Here”.  After some traveling and living in 5 different countries I decided to bring my love of photography and my fascination with different cultures, values and social structures together and begin this project.  

What are you trying to do?

Through this project, I want to capture the diversity of life beginnings. I want to document different cultures, value systems and circumstances babies are born to in an image. My goal is to photograph as many newborns as possible in the Bay Area and around the world. (By Newborns I mean baby’s under 3 weeks old).

How will you do it?

1. I will travel to your home and bring my camera. 
2. I will ask: “What do you want to raise your child with?”
3. Together we will gather items that you want to incorporate in your photo and will compose them around your baby and create the image.

What will I gain?

• The final image in high quality with printing rights.
• The chance to be a part of a cool grassroots art project.
