As a Bay Area Maternity Photographer, I have to say, I really missed doing sessions. I couldn’t be happier to ease back into shooting with this beautiful family!
My first post Covid-19 session was full of mixed feelings. Nervousness and excitement were the top two. We of course followed precautions such as social distancing (6 feet) and I verbally gave directions on adjusting clothing, hair, and poses, to be as safe as possible. This family was so sweet and so fun to photograph, they were open to new ideas, adventurous, and so incredibly patient.
This lovely session took place in one of the Bay Area’s beautiful sceneries in the hills of east San Jose, on a sunny May evening. Thankfully, we got a perfect natural light, that allowed depth within the photos, while keeping it simple at the same time. The location also provided awesome backdrops to make the family stand out. This session was mainly a maternity shoot, which is one of my main specialties, along with a couple of family photos. Being a maternity photographer, it is so important to capture these moments of a mother right before their life takes a new direction.
During this time of their pregnancy, some mothers may forget their beauty and not recognize themselves. Therefore, during these sessions, my main goal is to make the mother feel beautiful, and truly love themselves. In my maternity sessions, you can wear whatever you like! You don’t need to wear an uncomfortable dress or get your makeup professionally done (although if that’s what you like, go for it!), you just have to be you. I use the poses that will make you feel confident and that are playful to capture the true essence of you and your family.
